The library Children's Room is raising butterflies this spring! Our butterfly farm will be available to observe in the children's room from May 20th until our butterfly release party on June 15th! We are hosting several events and activities as part of this exciting program:
- Caterpillar Storytime on Friday, May 24th at 10 AM. All Ages: Join us for a special Family Storytime to welcome our Caterpillars to the library and learn a little bit more about our many-legged friends! Registration is required!
- Life-Cycle of a Butterfly program on Saturday, June 1st at 10 AM. Ages 5 and up. Learn about the amazing changes butterflies go through by creating an edible life cycle. We’ll also make time for a story and some “Butterfly I Spy” outside. Registration is required!
- Butterfly Release Party on Saturday, June 15th at 10 AM. All Ages: Join us for some butterfly stories and to say goodbye to our butterflies as we let them free to fly! Registration required!
You can visit anytime to watch the caterpillars transform into painted lady butterflies. We will have an observation journal that kids can add to, and they are invited to play our Camouflaged Butterflies game.
