Storytimes & Programs

The Staff in the Children's Room takes pride in offering quality storytimes and programs to the children of Cumberland.

Storytimes

The Children's Room conducts storytime sessions year round.
Registration must be done in person and preference will be given to children who reside in Cumberland.

Registration for Summer Storytime Sessions will be available in May 2008.

Lapsit Storytime
Thirty minutes of stories, music, movement and play.  Introduces children under 24 months old and their caregivers to storytime and group experiences. 
Siblings are welcome to attend.

Toddler Storytime
Thirty minutes of stories, fingerplays, songs and a craft for two-year-olds.  Children must be accompanied by a familiar adult who is willing to participate.
Siblings are welcome to attend.

3 Year Old Storytime 
Children meet independently with the librarian for 30 minutes of stories, songs, games and a craft.

4 & 5 Year Old Storytime
Children meet independently with the librarian for 45 minutes of stories,songs, games and a craft

Sleepytime Storytime
A drop-in evening program for quiet stories and activities for children ages 3-6. Children may wear their PJ's and bring a stuffed animal.
No registration is required.


 

Open Art




The Children’s Room offers a series of craft programs for children ages 4-12. 

No registration is required

Computer Programs 

During the school year, the Children's Room offers a four- part series of computer classes for children ages 8-12.
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend. There is no charge for instruction.
Registration must be done in person and preference will be given to children who reside in Cumberland.

Children are required to sign-up for the four-part series.
