The Paws to Read program is a wonderful way to practice reading and spend time with a furry friend. Children up to age 12 who read independently are invited to practice reading to a gentle dog from Windwalker Pet Therapy!
Dogs visit monthly on Saturdays. Upcoming spring 2023 dates are:
- 3/18
- 4/15
- 5/20
and visits generally run from 11 am - 12 noon and then from 2-3 pm. Readers sign up for a 15-minute reading session ahead of the date. Bring your own book or plan enough time to pick one out in the library beforehand, and check in at the Children's Desk at your scheduled time. Register at our events calendar.
Note: Be aware of the time slot you are registering for. Participants who are more than 5 minutes late for their time slot will forfeit their turn and the staff will offer the spot to a child who is in the Children's room.
