Fall into a Great Book
There is a chill in the air and the leaves are presenting us with a beautiful array of colors. To me, the palate of fall colors never gets old. My ideal is to sit on my patio wrapped in my warm bulky sweater with my hot cup of apple cider enjoying a good book and taking in the last views of the season before winter strikes.
There is crop of new books to pick from this fall that will fill both your mind and soul and may even add some fright for your Halloween enjoyment. Here are a few titles to get you started.
The Girl in the Spider's Web by David Lagercrantz is the 4th book to follow-up Stieg Larsson's The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Lisbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist join up again to create a heart stopping new thriller. A great read to match the upcoming eerie October holiday!!! John Grisham also has a new book hitting the shelves soon, Rogue Lawyer. With a main character who works out of a bulletproof van, this is sure to be a story unlike any other by the master of legal suspense.
A story to warm your heart on a cool evening is After You by Jojo Moyes. This is the continuing story of Louisa Clark. It is a story of healing and falling in love again. Nicholas Sparks tells the story of a mismatched pair that turn out to be the perfect matches for each other in See Me. And, of course, James Patterson will have several new novels on the shelf as well!
If you are looking to stretch your creative muscles, then you will not want to miss Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic: Creative Living Without Fear. The author of Eat, Pray, Love has done it again with her ode to living fearlessly and letting your talents lead the way. For those looking for a more historical or political read, then you will not want to miss Bob Woodward’s The Last of the President’s Men. He tells the last piece of the Watergate story-how the taping actually happened and the many layers of deception of the Nixon presidency that are still unknown to the general public.
When you need a good laugh pick up Mindy Kaling’s Why Not Me? Her views and opinions on life will have you laughing out loud! And if humor is your thing, you will definitely not want to miss Jenny Lawson’s new book, Furiously Happy. She will leave you laughing until you cry.
